Counselling & Mental Health

B. S. Centre of Neuropsychology and counselling has been founded in 1984 by the endowment funds of two visionary Shri Bhagwan Jain and Shri Shobhalal Jain of Sagar City, M. P. 470003. Since its inception, the centre took every possible initiative to promote mental health among different sections of the individuals and other needy clients of Sagar city and adjacent regions. In the light of the fast-changing world scenario, the centre was reconstituted by the Department in 2016 to meet the demands of mental health problems within the University and other adjacent regions of Sagar, City. It was decided that in addition to teaching and research, faculty members/research scholars of the Department experienced in counselling or other allied areas would extend counselling services for the welfare of the community. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology was nominated as the coordinator of the B.S. Centre of the Neuropsychology and Counselling. In the scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic, the centre extended counselling services to a large number of individuals to shoulder its foremost duty of community building.
