- Brief Introduction of the Department :
Department of Education of the university came into the existence initially as postgraduate Basic Training (PGBT) College of Government of Madhya Pradesh in 1961. From 1967-2011 it functioned as ‘University College of Education’. After the up gradation of the university in to a Central University in January 2009, this University College of Education with all its entities and amenities was transformed in to Department of Education on 27 March 2011. Department of Education is successfully running different programmes of undergraduate, post graduate and doctoral levels viz B.A. B. Ed. / B.Sc. B.Ed. (4 Year Integrated Programme), B.A. (Education: as a UG Subject), M.Ed. and Ph.D. Recently Department of Education has received grants from Ministry of Human Resource Development of Government of India under PMMMNMTT scheme to upgrade the department as School of Education. The activities of School of Education will functions under two centers namely Centre for Pre-service Teacher Education and Centre for Professional Development of Teacher Educators.
