Year of Establishment : 1946

  1. Brief Introduction of the Department :

It is indeed a matter of great privilege for the Department of Law that the founder of the University Doctor Harisingh Gour – M.A., D.C.L., LL.D. (Cantab.), D.Litt. D.sc., Member of the Inner Temple, Knight, Bar – at Law and Member of Constituent Assembly himself was a renowned lawyer and great Jurist. The Department of Law made its humble beginning in the year 1946 when the University of Saugar became functional. It is the oldest Law Department in Madhya Pradesh. 'To serve the Law and the Nation' is the sacrosanct motto of the Department of Law. The CBCS (ChoiceBasedCreditSystem) has been introduced from the academic session 2009- 2010.
