Criteria for the selection of candidates for attending Faculty Induction Programs /Refresher Course

The criteria for the selection of teachers for attending orientation programme and refresher course is as under:  

  1. The selection of candidates will be on the basis of seniority i.e., length of service in the cadre amongst the eligible candidates for Refresher Course whose applications are complete in all respects. Those candidates who require FIP/RC/STC for their next promotion (level) earlier than others shall be given preference over those whose promotion is due in subsequent years.
  1. No application form will be entertained after last date fixed by this HRDC to receive application forms.
  2. No application shall be entertained without the forwarding and reliving letter issued by the Head of the concerned institutes.
  1. As per UGC (Draft) guidelines section 7.1.4 participation in the Faculty Induction Programs is a prerequisite for admission in the Refresher Courses.
  1. There should be a minimum gap of one year following an Orientation course for participating in a Refresher Course. Also there should be minimum gap of one year between two RC’s though it may be relaxed if an adequate number of participants are not available.
  1. Since the UGC releases the grant under three components of Gen., SC & ST, therefore the Reservation policy i.e. Gen. (76%), SC (16%) & ST (8%) shall be observed while selecting the participants. In case required number of participants is not available in the reserved category, in any course, it may be filled from the general category.
  1. The number of participants in a Refresher Course/ Faculty Induction Programs and Short Term Courses should be minimum of 40 and maximum up to 80 as per the UGC guidelines.
  1. In case of inter-disciplinary courses the participants may not be allowed to do the course if he/she has already done the Refresher Course under the same title.                                                                                                                               

Guidelines for Participants

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ATTENDING 
FACULTY INDUCTION PROGRAMS / REFRESHER COURSES

  1. Applicants have to pay Registration fee of Rs. 1,000/- (non refundable) online/offline mode
  2. No applicant will be entertained who fails to submit a copy of the Relieving Order of the Principal in the case of College teachers and of the Head/Chairperson of the Department concerned in the case of University teacher, as per specimen given below, at the time of registration for the course.
  3. Each participant must carry with him/her syllabus of courses he/she is teaching and a summary of the talk he/she will have to deliver during the course.
  4. The medium of instructions for the program/course will be English & Hindi.
  5. Each participant will be required to undertake some task for improving his/her subject knowledge. It may include book review, project work, experiments, writing papers, etc. Therefore, he/she should come prepared.
  6. The participant will not be granted any type of leave of absence during the program. The report of absence, if any, during program will be communicated to the Principal/Head of the Institution and the participant will have to attend the succeeding programs/courses to make up for the period of absence and only thereafter they will be issued the certificate of participation of the program/course.
  7. No reimbursement in cash of DA will be made to the participants as per the recent guidelines of

     the UGC.

  1. Each outstation participant in offline mode will be paid travelling charges as under: -

Outstation participant in offline (physical) mode  will be paid AC-III railway fare (all trains) / AC Deluxe bus fare (VOLVO BUS not allowed) on production of original tickets. 
Note: TA bill in the absence of supporting documents in original will be rejected straight way.

  1. No substitute will be allowed in place of the selected teacher.
  2. Each participant will be awarded a certificate after successful completion of the course. The grades shall be awarded after assessing the participants under the criteria - multiple choice objective test, seminar, project/ survey work, micro-teaching and overall response. The participants who get 'F' grade are required to repeat the program after a gap of one year without financial commitment to Human Resource Development Centre.
