The then ASC was started in the University in 1988 in a portion of building on shared basis with IGNOU Centre of the University under the directorship of Prof. G. P. Mishra, a renowned Botanist. The building was old with facilities of moderate level. HRDC has two Seminar Halls for 70 participants with projection facilities and a room for the administrative staff, and library, with the then advanced reprography facilities. It uses the university guest house to provide accommodation facility for the outside participants

OBJECTIVES:

Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) aims at making Higher Education teachers and administrators able, adjust their attitudes, hone their skills and enhance their knowledge to be a competent teachers about the fundamentals of Higher Education in domestic and global contexts, making them learn the basics of profession of teaching, keeping them abreast of latest development taking place in their fields, enabling them capable to use various teaching and learning aids and strategies specifically ICT, educating them with functioning of higher education institution, and their job description and role in a higher education institution and national growth and relationship with industry and society and so on.

About University:

The present Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalya, then Saugor Vishwavidyalya was founded and headed by Sir Dr Harisingh Gour, a famous scholar, legislator, author and poet, out of his private earnings of his life. It has been the maiden example in the history of Indian universities to this date. It was the first university of the state.  The university was named after Dr Harisingh Gour in 1983. The university was upgraded as the central university in 2009. 

About the   Sagar city:  

Located at the distance of 200 Km from Bhopal, Saugor, now pronounced and written as Sagar, is city with Municipal Corporation. It well connected by railroad from Bina Junction to Katni Junction line.   The city has the Mahar Regiment Centre of Indian Military. The sites like Khajuraho, Bhediya Ghat , and Jhansi are within the reach of 200 kms.
