About the Journal DEEKSHA – A Journal of Education is a peer reviewed, biannual, bilingual online open access research journal especially for education discipline which is published by the Department of Education, School of Educational Studies, Doctor Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar (MP). The journal is published twice in a year (June and December) whereas depending on the need, some special issues may also be published occasionally. The journal provides an online platform for the professional development opportunities to the teachers, teacher educators, educational administrators, policy makers and researchers through contribution of their primary data-based studies, novel ideas, and critical appraisals of contemporary educational problems, views and experiences to improve educational practices. The journal focuses on the thought provoking articles, challenging discussions, analysis, educational issues, comments, criticism, reviews and other related features in education discipline. |

DEEKSHA – A Journal of Education The word DEEKSHA is an abbreviation of Developing Excellence in Education through Knowledge, Skill and Holistic Approach. Each alphabet of DEEKSHA has been marked with seven colors i.e. rainbow: Violet, Blue, Indigo, Green, Yellow, Orange and Red. Not for the fancy, each color has reflected the vision and mission of this journal Violet represents imagination and creativity, Blue represents calmness and serenity Indigo represents awareness and intuition, Green represents growth and renewal, Yellow represents happiness and cheer, Orange represents endurance and perseverance and Red represents passion and vitality. This means the journal promotes the publication which is innovative, creative and with holistic approach. |

About the Logo The logo of the journal has two rings - outer and inner rings. The outer ring has two parts the upper part highlights the name of the journal in a specific academic and cultural context while the lower part reflects the journal’s institutional identity and affiliation. The inner ring has the central imagery features of Lord Buddha seated in a meditative posture beneath a Bodhi tree, symbolizing enlightenment, knowledge, and inner peace — ideals that resonate with the core values of education. The serene expression of Buddha and the tree's lush green canopy suggest a nurturing environment for holistic learning and academic growth. The color scheme of the logo is rich with symbolic meaning. The predominant purple color used in the depiction of Lord Buddha signifies wisdom, dignity, and peace - qualities essential to the realm of education. The green Bodhi tree represents growth, stability, and the nurturing nature of knowledge, while the orange background symbolizes energy, enthusiasm, and transformation, aligning with the dynamic process of learning. The blue circular border suggests protection and unity, encompassing all elements harmoniously. The statement of motto mentioned in the logo as "दीक्षयाप्नोति दतक्षणाम” ् is a Sanskrit phrase adopted from the Yajurveda Hymns (19. 30) rooted in values and scholarly pursuits. The meaning of this phrase is- "The one who receives Deeksha (initiation or education) becomes worthy of Dakshina (respect or offering)." In essence, it signifies that a true learner, through the process of dedicated learning and discipline (Deeksha), becomes deserving of honor and recognition (Dakshina). The phrase is placed prominently to emphasize its role in contributing to the educational discourse and is beautifully aligns with the vision of journal and the Department as well fostering sincere, knowledgeable, and respectful scholars who uphold the values of the teaching-learning tradition. |
