ABOUT US
OUR OBJECTIVES
The Centre primarily focuses on identifying effective ways of learning-teaching methodologies in social science subjects, which can enhance the quality of school education in India with reference of learners’ performance, learning achievements, enhancing cognitive abilities, reducing dropouts etc. The main concern of this proposed centre will be catering personal, professional and institutional needs and strengthening their Existence and Identity of learners, Teachers and Teacher Educators particular and as well as general. This proposed centre tries to visualise, articulate, formulate and develop programmes to address two broad areas of Social Science-
(i) Subject based knowledge and
(ii) Pedagogic Understanding.
The main thrust and focus of the centre (as visualised in PMMMNMTT also) are as under-
- To develop discipline-specific curricular framework and evaluation methods in incorporation into interactive means i.e. workshop, seminar, discussion forum, short-term professional development programme
- To outline and recommend pedagogy and schemes of assessment for the context per se
- To develop need based learning materials (eg.Textbooks, handbooks, modules, primers etc.) and to organise its translation to cater multi-lingual learner’s need
- Documentation of repositories, reference services and electronic data bases, for promoting research on issues relating to teaching and learning practices
- To identify academic and institutional linkages between on/off campus faculty-community
- To provide access to share research-based data on teaching and learning in Social Sciences.
- To learn from others experiences and document their success stories.
- Disseminating the Knowledge process in the field of Education.
OUR STRATEGY

TLCSS will incubate and nurture on a continuous basis, discipline-specific curricula, pedagogy, learning material, open resource material, e-content for the fulfilment stack holders need through Capacity Building of functionaries.
