About the Community College

(National Skill Qualification Framework)

Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, Sagar strongly believes in the all-round development of the community. The establishment of Community College is a significant stepping stone towards realizing students' aspirations. It opens the doors for specialized knowledge and a wider spectrum of careers and gives opportunities to enhance the skills of the learners.

The courses undertaken by Community College such as Retail Management, Fashion Designing & Technology, Mushroom Cultivation & Processing, Organic Farming, Tourism, etc. during the last 5 years have changed the mindset of the students and now they are motivated to turn towards self-entrepreneurship. The college provides pathways to the students that assist in making their dreams a reality.

Skill enhancement bestows upon students opportunities and knowledge to develop and strengthen vital skills that are prerequisites for gaining, maintaining, and building one's career in a chosen area. The commencement of the one-year Diploma course in Mushroom Cultivation and Processing in 2015, supported by the University Grants Commission, has been a significant step forward in improving the livelihoods of the rural community of the Bundelkhand region and continuing their interest in skill development. Currently, 19 courses are being offered by this division of the university.
